Aunt Sara was always interested in my life and particularly in my teaching career. I can only hope to have a similar positive impact on my community and on the students in my classroom. She had a wonderful life, and I am so pleased that her friends and former students have taken the opportunity to honor her memory.

To Sarah's Family, Please accept my condolences. I've been visiting Sarah over the past few years. Sarah and a friend of mine, Anne Mosti, became friends at the Temple and Carriage House. I am friends with Melva Weisberger and attend Temple on special Holidays. So I've known Sarah for several years. I visited her in late Dec.just before I came to Florida for the winter. That's why I wasn't able to come to the funeral home but my thoughts are with you. Sincerely, Jim

I send my condolences to Mrs. Volkin's family. I had the honor of teaching with her at the beginning of my career at Weir Jr. High. I so toally admired how she handled every situation. Mrs. Volin was truly a professional educator. I often reflect on watching her in situations and how she was always the LADY and was always in control of any situation with students or other faculty. I have thought of her often. We all are so much better having known her. Know that my prayers are with your family in this time of our loss. Janice Moore, Tyler, Texas

It was a privilege and a pleasure to have known Mrs. Volkin. When I did my student teaching years ago, she was my supervisor. She had a firm-but-fair attitude, and her students learned much from her. She was a credit to the education community in Weirton. I extend my deepest sympathy to her family. With condolences, Dwight McUmar

Sara Volkin was my 7th and 8th grade Social Studies teacher at Cove Elementary School in the early 50's. She was a fantastic teacher, one that I have never forgotten. She not only taught her subject, she brought it to life with her knowledge. She was a model of kindness and caring. When she lived on Brookline ST. in Weirton, she and her husband would welcome us into their apartment to visit and chat. She always had time for us. I started teaching in l961. When I retired, I was thrilled to see her again at the Retired School Employees meeting. All of us Cove School kinds remember her. We all loved her. Most sincerely, Judy Notte Hamill
