Sara E. Crawford Harsh, 88, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away Tuesday evening November 7, 2006 at home with family at her side. She was born February 28, 1918 in Tiltonsville, Ohio the daughter of the late Peter Joseph and Laura (Cusick) McDermott. Sara was Presbyterian by faith and a member of First Westminster Presbyterian Church. She graduated Salutatorian of the 1936 class of Warren Consolidated High School. She worked as a waitress for 30 years in Martins Ferry, Tiltonsville and Steubenville, OH at Grummets, The Tea Room (Hub) and Tick Tock Restaurant at Kaufmanns Department Store. She was a proud Big Red Football booster who attended every game and cheered on her boys to their many victories. Sara was preceded in death by her 1st husband Sheldon William Crawford; two daughters Patricia (Crawford) Kenefick and Sara E. (Crawford) Watson; 2nd husband Lawrence Evans Harsh; grandson John T. Kenefick; and brother John McDermott. She was the proud parent of 7 children; two daughters JoAnn Crawford and Melanie Crawford (Greg) DiCarlo; three sons Peter Joseph (Deb) Crawford, Sheldon William (Shelia) Crawford, and John Robert Crawford; 19 grandchildren Chuck Gault, Charlene O’Malley, Richard O’Malley, Pamela O’Malley, Patty Green, Charles O’Malley, Michael Crawford, Michelle Spencer, Dale Kenefick, Todd Elliott, Kim McKnight, Jon Jay Crawford, Jade N. Crawford, Michael Lamb, Alysha Lauren Watson, Danielle DiCarlo, Dominic DiCarlo and Deanna DiCarlo; 25 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and sister Dorothy Beauty. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday with Rev. Robert Shearer officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to First Westminster Presbyterian Church.
