Sara B. Allen, 93, of Steubenville, Ohio died Sunday, September 4, 2005 at Country Club Manor. She was born in Steubenville on February 13, 1912, a daughter of the late Daniel and Sara B. Grimes McLaughlin. Sara was a member of Holy Name Cathedral and Delta Sigma Epsilon Sorority. She was a schoolteacher having taught at Wells, St. Anthony, Holy Rosary and Grant Schools. Preceding Sara in death were her husband Charles T. Allen in 1993; two sons Joseph and Charles Allen; and two brothers. Surviving are her daughter Alexis (Joseph) DiCesare of Steubenville; sons William C. (Barbara) Allen of Wickliffe, Ohio and Michael G. (Kathleen) Allen of Wintersville; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and sister Patricia Denk of Niceda, WI. Friends are invited to attend a funeral liturgy with mass at Holy Name Cathedral 11:30 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. William Cross officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Catholic Central High School, 320 West View, Steubenville, OH 43952.
