Sam Vein 75 of Richmond, Ohio died Sunday evening at his home of natural causes surrounded by his family. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on October 15, 1927 a son of the late Dobre “Peter” and Milija “Mabel” Tepovac Vein. He was retired fom Consolidated Coal Co. in Cadiz, Ohio as a heavy equipment operator. Sam was an Army veteran of WWII having served in the 129th Engineers Combat Battallion. He was preceded in death by one sister Anne Wukelic. Surviving are his wife Thelma Jane Claypole Vein; one daughter Mary Vein Eastridge of Wintersville, Ohio (formerly of Pinellas Park, FL); one son Robert Joseph (Brandy) Vein of Richmond, Ohio; four granddaughters Brandee J. Eastridge of Brandon, Florida and Holly M. Eastridge of Pinellas Park, Abigale L. Vein and Sara Elizabeth Vein both of Richmond, Ohio; five brothers Milan (Ruth) Vein of Raymond, WA, Eli Vein and Joseph (Hazel) Vein both of Steubenville, George (Dulcie) Vein of Mingo Junction and Peter (Nancy) Vein, Jr. of Richmond, Ohio; three sisters Josephine Hare of Bordentown, NJ, Dorothy Jewett of Steubenville and Martha Vein of Wintersville, Ohio; his former wife Mary Jean Pugh of Wintersville and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday 3-7 p.m. Private family services on Wednesday with Rev. Delbert Lash officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville, Ohio .
