Obituary For Salvatore P. Taravella

Salvatore P. Taravella, 89 of Lima, OH formerly of Steubenville died Sunday, February 14, 2010 in Columbus, OH.  He was born on May 3, 1920 a son of the late Ornofrio and Rosalia Rinelli Taravella.  He was Catholic by faith and retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel after 35 years of service as an electrician.  Preceded in death by his son Samuel Taravella; brothers Russell “Sam” Taravella and Frank Taravella; sisters Genny Sanfilippo and Lucy Carocci.  Salvatore is survived by daughters Patricia Ann (Drew) McPeek and Sherry Alikom both of Newton Falls, OH, Sally Miley of Covington, LA, Marlene Taravella of Myrtle Beach, SC and Rhonda Worley of Wintersville; brother Andy Taravella of Steubenville; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Thursday from 5-7p.m. and on Friday from 9a.m. until time of services at 11a.m. with Msgr. Kurt Kemo officiating.  Burial at Union Cemetery.
