Sally Marracino, 67, died Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born in Steubenville, the daughter of the late Herman and Doris (Smith) Owesney. She attended St. Peter’s School and graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1955. Sally founded Marracino Insurance Agency in 1981 and worked for the agency until her death. She also worked as an underwriter and department head for Fireman’s Fund Insurance in New York City and Pittsburgh. Sally was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas service organization for more than 40 years, having served in several leadership positions including local regent, District Deputy, and Ohio State Regent. She founded and worked with local Junior Catholic Daughters courts and served as state Co-Chairman for the organization. She was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Church and was a member of the adult choir for more than 30 years. She was also a former member and officer of the Catholic Women’s Club at St. Peter’s. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Ralph Marracino and an infant daughter, Judith Ann and an infant brother, Thomas Owesney. She is survived by her children Jeff (Roberta) Marracino of Bloomingdale; Lori Marracino of Alexandria, Virginia; and Joy (Mark) Delatore of Steubenville; three granddaughters, Alyssa and Cara Delatore and Londy Marracino; and one sister, Joyce (John) DeFelice of Weirton. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral liturgy with mass 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peters Church with Msgr. George Yontz and Msgr. Michael Campbell co-celebrating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Vigil services 3:45 p.m. Friday.
