Ruth Z. Phsarce 83 of Steubenville, Ohio died Thursday, November 6, 2003 at Country Club Manor, Steubenville, OH. She was born in Allentown, PA on February 27, 1920 the daughter of the late Edwin and Laura Gildroy Akers. She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Steubenville, where she belonged to the Lady of Philoptochos Society, Senior Citizen Group, and was very active with the annual festival. She was retired from the Steubenville Board of Education, where she worked as a matron. She was preceded in death by her husband Steve A. Phsarce, he died February 8, 1973, brothers John and Edwin Akers. She is survived by a son Andrew (Karla) Phsarce of Toronto, OH, a daughter Christina (Eugene) Garay of Steubenville, grandchildren Steve (Tracy) Garay of Steubenville, Jamie (Will) Hubbard of Wintersville, Saressa and Shannon Phsarce, both of Toronto, OH, great grandchildren Joey and Dominic Garay. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9p.m. On Monday friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:00a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Steubenville with Rev.
