Ruth V. Williams, 101, of Steubenville, Ohio died June 17, 2018. She was born June 3, 1917 in Kidwell, WV a daughter of the late John W. and Olive (Armstrong) Eddy. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband W. Clark Williams in 1985; her granddaughter Karen Elaine Gilcrest in 1993; her brothers Carl, Clarence “Bud” and Brady “Bill” Eddy and her sisters Edna Perdue, Ellen Allen, Juanita Thompson and Pearl Watkins. She is survived by her daughter V. Marlee Penebaker; her grandson John Gilcrest and many nieces and nephews. Ruth belonged to the Elk Fork Church of Christ in Tyler County WV and to the former Steubenville Congregational Church in which she took an active part. She presently belonged to the Zion United Church of Christ. Ruth also enjoyed working at the polls during the local elections. A private burial will follow in Union Cemetery. Ruth only asked that you remember her in your prayers. Arrangements entrusted to Dunlope – Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville.
