Ruth V. MacGregor 94 of Wintersville, Ohio died Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at Valley Hospice Palliative Care Unit. She was born in North Manchester, Indiana on December 3, 1909 a daughter of the late Alva Ray and Bessie Viola Moody Garwood. Ruth was a retired registered nurse from the former Ohio Valley Hospital and also worked as a private duty nurse for twenty-five years. She was a graduate of Boardman High School Class of 1929. Preceding Ruth in death were her husband Vernon Brooks MacGregor; one brother and two sisters. Surviving are two sons James F. (wife Linda) MacGregor of Wintersville and Vernon D. (wife Joanne) MacGregor of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother David Garwood of Columbus, Ohio; and two sisters Jeanne Griffith of Austintown, Ohio and Jeannette Garwood of Boardman, Ohio. At the family’s request, services will be private with burial at Union Cemetery in Steubenville.
