Learning that our beloved Ruth died on July 2, and not learning of the death until we read it in the newspaper on July 7 at 6:00 pm, my heart is both sad and joyful at the same time. I am sad that Ruth's final few years were spent in isolation, away from the family she loved so much. And, I am joyful that she has gained her heavenly reward so that she spends eternity with her Bill. She loved him so much in life and missed him so much after his death, the reunion must have been God's gift for her devotion. We all shared many 'Woods Family' vacations, and special trips; every Christmas and holiday meal; sitting on the lanai for hours and talking and, the Oklahoma and Florida visits of 'The Golden Girls'. I will always be grateful that Ruthie accepted me as 'one of her own' and took me into her heart, as I did her. Ruth was beloved and we will miss her always, but we know she is at peace again. Your palm tree continues to grow tall, Ruth. Love you.

In Loving Tribute to Ruth Mae Woods Ruth Woods, a wonderful, loving, gentle and kind step-mother of over 40 years. She was a selfless woman who had a wide-open heart and an endless abundance of patience and kindness for others. She never met a stranger and walked away from each `new friend with an interesting story to share. Ruth had a great sense of humor and loved to hear jokes so she could quickly share them. Her `old time expressions were priceless and while they might catch you off guard, they also warmed your heart and put a smile on your face. My brother, sister and I plus our extended Woods family members have missed Ruth these past three years but I am at peace knowing that she knew how much we loved, cared for and prayed for her well- being. We had over 40 years of Ruths best times in life---times of laughter, love, card games, cooking lessons, vacations, jokes, fun adventures and `how to fix-it inventions. She and my father always had a solution when we called with a house, lock, car, career or life challenge. Their love and support was unending. Heaven has certainly welcomed and embraced Ruths arrival. Our family is at peace knowing that she is with God and the imprint that she has left on all of our lives will be forever. Peace and Love Be With You, Ruth. Your daughter, Janet.

I was so deeply sorry to hear of Ruth's passing. She was such a vibrant and fun lady to be around. I'm sorry also that we were not able to see her these last years, a very big loss for people who cared so much. I will always remember Ruth and Bill and how they loved and cared for each other. We'll miss you Ruthie, God bless you.

Just learned about your passing today. To a wonderful step mother who was so full of love and support. I am at peace to know that you have now joined Dad for eternity. He loved you so much. I have missed knowing about your life and whereabouts the past 3 years .... but had faith that God watched over you. I have prayed for you each day. I was so fortunate to have you here with me during the "best years of your life" when we laughed, loved, and celebrated family the Woods way. I love you. God bless. Your daughter Sheryl

We are so sorry for the loss of Ruth. I have tried on several dozen times to find Ruth whereabouts. The family choose not to let us know where she was. She was a dear sister in law and we missed her very much. I am very glad that we did have years of closeness and fun together long ago. Carol Rotella
