Ruth Elizabeth “Betty” Stauffer, 81, of Steubenville, Ohio died Friday, December 23, 2005 at Gables Care Center. She was born June 10, 1924 in Steubenville a daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth McCandless Davison. She was a 1941 graduate of Steubenville High School and St. Louis Institute of Music. She was a member of Steubenville Art Association, Womans Club of Steubenville, Steubenville Musicians Union and Jefferson County Animal Welfare League. Betty was a retired piano and organ teacher and played keyboard in several local bands. Preceding Betty in death were her husband Fred Stauffer; stepchildren Jack Stauffer and Judy Clowers; and companion Basil Calderelli. Suriving are her brother Joe Davison of Steubenville and lifelong friends Arlene and Rolfe MacQuown of Wintersville. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road on Saturday 1-3 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert J. Shearer officiating. Burial at Toronto Union Cemetery.
