Ruth E. Cook, 91, of Steubenville, Ohio died Monday, November 27, 2017 at Trinity West. She was born August 12, 1926 in Miami, FL the daughter of the late George C. & Ruth E. Bills Slater. Ruth was a member and elder of First Westminster Presbyterian Church; Presbyterian Womans Club; D.A.R.; and Order of Eastern Star LaBelle Chapter 414. She was a retired teachers aide for Steubenville City Schools. Preceding Ruth in death were her husband Robert R. “Cookie” Cook whom she married September 17, 1950 and he died November 15, 2010. Ruth is survived by her children Robert M. (Jill) Cook & Deborah (David) Severson; grandchildren Robert R. Cook, Garrett S. Severson & Rachel E. Severson; great grandchildren Eliana Grace, Livia Faith & Lucas Robert Cook. Friends may call at Shorac Funeral Home, 611 N. Fourth Street, Steubenville on Thurdsay from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 12:30 p.m. Burial at Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to First Westminster Church.
