Ruth Arlene McClain, 78, of Wintersville, OH died Sunday, March 26, 2006 at Trinity West Medical Center. She was born in Holidays Cove, WV on July 10, 1927 a daughter of the late Byrd H. and Dorothy M. Fuller Boyles. Preceding Arlene in death were her husband Wayne S. McClain whom she married on September 7, 1946 died on October 18, 1995 and grandson Richard A. Cole II on July 9, 1992. Arlene was a member of the Hilltop Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, prior to that she was a Sunday school teacher at 1st Methodist Church in Toronto. She was a 4-H advisor and member of Hilltop Women’s Association, Toronto 500 Card Club and Wintersville Lunch Bunch. Arlene is survived by her daughter, with whom she resided, Sandra (William “Bill”) Johnson of Wintersville, OH; two brothers James (Alta) Boyles of Colerain, OH and David H. (Carol) Boyles of Portland, OR; sister Thelma Jean (Tom) Barton of Roanoke, VA; grandson David (Kimberly) Cole of Marietta, OH; and two great grandchildren and ten adopted great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. where services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Curt Watkins officiating.
