Ruth Ann Knicely, 85, of Mingo Junction, OH passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at her home. She was born in Steubenville on October 13, 1931 the daughter of the late Floyd and Clara Stillwell Merryman. Ruth was a member of Bell Chapel United Methodist Church, Steel Valley Car Club, the Order of Eastern Star and the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She also had worked as a contracted mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Billie Jo Whanger. Ruth is survived by her husband Orford Knicely; children Karen (William) Dellapenna of Mingo Junction, Judy (Edward) Lyons of Steubenville, Bunny (Bill) Whanger of Wintersville, David (Ericka) Knicely of Wintersville and Robin (Don) Laughery of Wintersville; 9 grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and very close friends. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Friday 2-4 and 6-8p.m. Friends may also call at Bell Chapel United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 10a.m. until time of services at 11a.m. with Rev. Jeff Proya officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. Memorial contributions may be made to Bell Chapel.
