Ruth A. McNeil, 96, of Alliance, Ohio passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at The Orchards. She was born on October 14, 1929 in Steubenville the daughter of the late Stephen & Florence Hadsell George. She was a retired sales associate at both Carlisle’s and JC Penney. She was a lifelong member of Finley United Methodist Church.

Ruth was avid reader and a crossword puzzle fan. She treasured time with family members, and going to Lakeside, OH.

Preceding Ruth in death were her husband Charles E. McNeil and three brothers Paul Dean, William and Donald George.

Ruth is survived by her children Linda (Richard) Hite, Dennis (Tammy) McNeil & Charlene (late Richard) Duro; four grandchildren Heather (Josh) Couts, Luke (Jenni) McNeil, Carolyn (Tim) Gartner & Rachael (Josh) Runner; eight great grandchildren Haidyn Couts, Jackson Couts, Larkin McNeil, Messer McNeil, Adalynn Runner, Leanna Gartner, Wesley Runner & Colin Gartner.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Friday, October 31, at 10:00 AM with the funeral to follow at 11:00. Burial at Fort Steuben.
