Russell C. “Russ” Hyde, Jr. 79, of Mingo Junction died Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Trinity West. He was born in Steubenville on July 31, 1931 a son of the late Russell C. and Elizabeth Vermillion Hyde, Sr. Russ was a member and elder of First United Presbyterian Church, Mingo Junction where he served as Clerk of Session from 1999-2009, graduate of Mingo High School class of 1949, served on the board of Steel Valley Transit Authority and was the former administrator of the Village of Mingo Junction. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Donald R. Hyde; sister-in-law Darlene Hyde and nephew R. Douglas Hyde. Russ is survived by his wife Nancy Kelly Hyde; daughter Dorothy “Dee” (Charles “Chuck”) Kovach of Steubenville; son Russell (Patricia “Patty”) Hyde of Mingo Junction; brother Robert “Bob” Hyde of Brilliant; sister-in-law Sondra Hyde of Steubenville; grandchildren Shannon, Kelly and Charlie Kovach; Kristen, Michael and Ryan Hyde; Michael, Natalie and Rachel Terenzetti. Friends may call at Hoff-Shorac Funeral Home, 235 Clifton Ave., Mingo Junction on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9p.m. Friends may also call Friday from 10a.m. until time of service 11a.m. at First United Presbyterian Church, 650 McLister Ave., Mingo Junction, OH with Pastor Kenn Sickle officiating. Burial at Oakland Cemetery. Elder services Thursday, 7:30p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society, Jefferson County Chapter or First U.P. Church.
