Rudolph A. “Rudy” Visnic, 90, of Richmond, OH died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Lancia Villa Royale, Steubenville. He was born in Blaine, OH on November 17, 1918 a son of the late Alex and Mila Visnic. He was a former member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church and retired from the U.S. Post Office, where he was a letter carrier in Weirton. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and attained the rank of Sergeant Major. Rudy also had worked at Weirton Steel and drove truck for Pepsi Cola. Preceded in death by his wife Mayme L. Ash Visnic, she died 9-2-2006; sister Mildred Berlenge; brothers Thomas, Michael and Samuel Visnic. Rudy is survived by his sister Sally V. Mamula of Richmond; cousins Pearl (Tony) Palanzas of Boca Raton, FL and Nick Visnic of St. Clairsville, OH; friend Jeff Boocks of Weirton and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Friday from 6-8p.m. Friends may also call on Saturday from 10:30am until time of service 11:30am at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church, 530 N. 4th Street, Steubenville, OH with Very Rev. Rade Merick officiating. Entombment at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. Pomen services 6pm.
