Obituary For Ronald W. "Bud" Myers

Ronald W. (Bud) Myers, 85, of Steubenville, Ohio and formerly of Mount Pleasant, Ohio, passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Valley Hospice. He was born on July 17, 1934 in Steubenville, Ohio to the late Fred and Alice Myers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by his brother, Joe, sister-in-law, Olga, and their daughter, Kimberly.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Lovich Myers, stepson Mark Bordash (Cynthia), stepdaughter Diana Richards (Jeff), daughter Deborah Charlier (David), sister Kay Dileonardo (Tom), grandchildren Kelly Dopp (Chris), Matt Bordash (Amy), Andy Richards (Kerith), Lauren Richards, and Maddie Charlier. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Beckett and Casher Dopp, who filled his last years with joy and light.

Bud graduated from Steubenville Big Red High School in 1952. He then served proudly as a private in the United States Army. Following his time in the Army, Bud was a dedicated employee of the Kroger company for over 30 years. After retirement, Bud volunteered his time as a member of the Mount Pleasant Historical Society.

Bud married Bertha (Lovich) Myers on July 5, 1977 and spent over 42 years as a dedicated husband, life partner and constant companion to her as well as a devoted member of their large family.

Bud will be remembered for his endless love of friends and family, decorated storytelling and Irish good luck at the local casinos.

Viewing will take place at Shorac Funeral Home in Wintersville on Friday, March 13th from 4-7pm. A service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church (Everyone please meet at church) Saturday, March 14th at 10am followed by a ceremony at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Valley Hospice.

    Bertha we are so sorry for your loss. Bud was a wonderful man that always treated us as his own family. When I think of him I remember his smile. He will be missed but not forgotten. We are praying for you.
