Ron “Ronnie” Bennett, passed away on May 7, 2026, at the age of 72. Born and raised in Steubenville, Ron was a devoted husband, father, pap pap, brother, uncle and friend.
Ron shared 50 wonderful years of marriage with his high school sweetheart and beloved wife, Pattie.
Above all else, Ron’s proudest achievement was his two daughters, Ronilee and Nikki. No matter the problem — car trouble, a home repair, or simply needing advice — his daughters always knew one call to their dad would bring an answer, a solution, and reassurance that everything would be okay. He was the kind of man who could fix almost anything, but more importantly, he was always there when his family needed him.
Ron was a hardworking and deeply dependable man working 45 years at Timet. Though soft-spoken and quiet to many, those who truly knew him were lucky enough to experience his humor, creativity, and artistic spirit.
He had a passion for life’s simple joys: Harley motorcycles, Coca-Cola, great food, and traveling with the people he loved. Ron was an incredible cook and true foodie, famous especially for his homemade cabbage rolls. Through his love of cooking, he inspired both of his daughters to become wonderful cooks themselves, carrying on traditions and memories that will live on around family tables for years to come.
A proud soccer dad, Ron loved cheering on his son-in-law, Ema, throughout his professional soccer career, and he especially treasured attending his grandson Ezra’s soccer games. He absolutely adored his beautiful granddaughter Fiona, who brightened his life. Ron also had a special place in his heart for his beloved grand pups, who no doubt eagerly await his return for the best back scratches.
In his younger years, Ron played drums in the Big Red Band, another reflection of the artistic side he carried throughout his life. Whether through music, cooking, or humor, he left pieces of himself in the hearts of those he loved.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Betty (Yenchochic) Bennett, and his brothers Bill and Ed Bennett.
He is survived by his wife Pattie (Indovina) Bennett; daughters Ronilee Shye and Nikki (Ema) Boateng; grandchildren Ezra and Fiona; siblings Cheryl Bennett and Chris (Kim) Bennett; brother-in-law Tommy Indovina; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him.
Private services were held with family.
