Ronald K. Haynes, Sr., 79, of Wintersville, Ohio died Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Trinity West. He was born December 20, 1928 in Brilliant, OH a son of the late Roy C. and Edna Stillwell Haynes. He was a retired diesel mechanic from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Ron was a Purple Heart recipient serving in the Army during the Korean War. Surviving are his sons Ronald K. Haynes, Jr. of Wintersville, OH and Gary M. Haynes of Keystone Heights, FL; brother George “Bill” Haynes of Gnadenhutten, OH; sister Dorothy Nicholson of N ew Philadelphia, OH; sister-in-law Louise Davis of Richmond, OH; two granddaughters Stormy Haynes of Orlando, Fl and Chelsy Haynes of Keystone Heights, FL and Alice Kugler Haynes, the mother of his children, of Gainesville, FL. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home on Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., where a service will be held Monday 10 a.m. with Rev. P. Douglas George officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben where Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will perform military honors.
