Ron was a great person. He was my best frieng in College & for life. We were Fraternity brothers & roomates for 2-1/2 yrs. @ Mt Union. We graduated & went into the service together. Ron was in our wedding. We stayed in touch visiting ea. other in Steubenville, Akron & Danville. Ron had a lot of friends & if he was a friend, you felt you had a real friend. Enjoyed hunting, Fishing, & golfing with Ron & Will. Ron looked after Will & you enjoyed being around both. Ron was of strong moral & family backround. Yes, Wayne the lights blinked at our house too that Sunday & we think it was Ron telling us he was in heaven with Will. God Bless you Ron,you'll never be forgotten. Joe Danko, Danville,Va.

I was very sorry to hear of Ron's passing and my sympathy goes out to his family. He was a very nice person and both he and his brother Bill were wonderful to my Aunt Clara. They were always there to try and help her when ever she needed it. It is a comfort to know that he is now in heaven with his beloved brother.

To Ron's Family, My wife and I always sat in the pew in front of Ron and Bill at church and we always talked about Mount Union Football. My cousins wife worked as the student admissions director at Mount Union for several years and they live in Alliance. She passed away last August after retiring at the end of June. We are so sorry to hear of his death and the Lord took him home very quickly. Dave Nicholson

Ron was a wonderful person ! We were fraternity brothers at Mount Union . I left a voice-mail message for Ron a couple of weeks before he became ill , suggesting that we meet for lunch . He then left a message for me , saying that he would like to do that . I am sorry that we didn't get to follow through with our plan . I extend my deepest sympathy to all of Ron's family and friends . He will be missed ! Larry Horton , Canton

I knew Ronnie and Willie back in the 1950s. I went to school with Ron and Willie. Wayne and Bill McFadden and Ron and Willie, we all ran together as a gang and we ran the North End of Steubenville, Ohio. We also played football at the Flat Iron in the North End, and went skinny dippin' in the Ohio River, under the train bridge. We hopped freight trains and went to the Family Drive-In North of Steubenville, Ohio. Ron and Willie were great friends and I will miss him. I was so great seeing him this past summer with the gang.

Ronnie was a lifetime best friend. A good and decent man of strong moral conviction. Those who know him cherish his friendship. He and Will were like family. Strange, but in the dark of a Sunday night a lightning storm lit up my bedroom and awoke me. The following morning brother Bill called and told me Ron had passed. It came to me then, that maybe the light show that awoke me was really Ronnie saying goodbye! I like to think it was. I'll carry that thought with me the rest of my life. I will miss you Ronnie as will brothers Terry, Bill, Bob, and your many friends. Wayne McFadden Cincinnati,OH

RON WAS A GREAT FRIEND - ANY FAVOR WAS NOT TOO SMALL. HE GAVE OF HIS LIFE TO HIS FATHER AND BROTHER - NEVER WANTING HIMSELF. RON WAS A ROCK-SOLID INDIVIDUAL OF HIS BELIEFS. FOR ME - RON WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR ANY THING I ASKED OF HIM - HE WAS AN INDIVIDUAL THAT I COULD COUNT ON IN FAMILY MATTERS- IN EVENT I COULDN'T. RON WAS A "GIVER" NOT A "TAKER" ! I FEEL PRIVILEGED TO TO HAVE KNOWN AND ASSOCIATED WITH THE CALLENDER FAMILY. GOD BLESS YOU RON AND TELL WILLIE HI FOR ME- KNOWING BOTH ARE IN HEAVEN.
