Dear Karen and children, I didn't know Rob, but he was a Sommers; and it was a name just so associated with Wintersville. If you grew up here in the past 70 years, you knew a "Sommers kid." How sad one so young has passed. My heart goes out to you, Karen, for the loss of a precious child. May you all take some comfort in the fact that obviously so many people knew and loved him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mrs. Sommers, Jeff ,Tag and the entire family,Very sorry for the loss of Rob. I have the greatest childhood memories with Robbie playing and winning championships every single year with the Reds and the Cardinals. I always thought how cool it was that Robbie's brothers were so involved in his baseball career. From Jeff coaching us when Coach Shively was unavailable to Tag pitching batting practice trying to simulate an upcoming fast pitching team. I can picture Rob right now playing shortstop and wearing his batting glove under his mitt. God bless you and your family.

Dear Karen, Jeff, and Tag,Please accept my deepest prayers and sympathy at Rob's passing. For a few years there as kids, Robbie and I spent a lot of time together; from delivering the Herald Star, to playing in the pool or IntelliVision in the basement, or hours on end in the front yard playing catch. And while Robbie and I went our own ways in high school and beyond, those childhood memories ever remain, and fondly so. Again, please accept my deepest condolences. -Greg Lamatrice

Karen~ My heart aches for you as you face losing a child. My prayers go out to you and the family. Rob was the one of the first people I met when we moved to Wintersville in 1981. Though we lost touch, I have very fond memories of Rob, Mark C., and I just hanging out in the tree house. As he passes, so dies another part of my youth. May he rest in peace.
