Obituary For Robert M. Bradley

Robert M. Bradley, age 73, transitioned over on May 23, 2024, after a prolonged illness. Robert was a graduate of Wayne High School in Jefferson County where he played basketball. After graduating, he moved to Worthington, a suburb of Columbus, and became a licensed barber, opening his own shop. After selling his business, he managed a retail store. He finished his career as an over-the-road truck driver, then finally retired on his land in Hocking Hills. Robert was a fan of the Buckeyes and Browns (despite his mother’s wave of the terrible towel). He sang and played the guitar, built furniture, was an avid reader (his favorite author Stephen King) and was deeply connected to nature. He enjoyed the great outdoors, hunted and fished. He was patriotic and loved his country. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer E. Bradley and Lucy V. Zakes. He is survived by his daughter, Sarah; sister, Delores Lucky; brother, David Bradley Sr; nieces and nephews, Amy Gusbar, Aaron Bradley, Beth Bailey, Kelly Leon, Andrew Bradley, Kristen Guerrero, David Bradley Jr, and Elizabeth Goble . In memoriam, a Catholic Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church in Wintersville on Saturday, June 15th at 10am, directly followed by his placement at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

My family met Robert at the property in the Hocking Hills. During the several years we knew him he became a friend and like a family member. My 2 kids loved visits from Bob and to them he was like a Grandpa. He was always so friendly and could make us laugh. We had a lot of meals together and watched some games. I'm finishing up one of his books now and will read as many as I can. My husband, kids and myself share in your loss and will miss him. Deepest condolences and prayers

Thank you Bob for loving our family unconditionally. We've created so many memories that will be cherished for many years to come. From hiking, tailgating, holidays, watching SVU on tv, or simply sitting and having simple conversations. I hope you know how much you were loved!

I have so many memories with you Uncle Bob. Coming down to your farm and Andrew setting off all the fireworks. I remember coming to see Grandma and Grandpa Bradley and you being there and being so excited to see you. You sitting on the porch drinking your beer and smoking your cigarettes. I still love the smell of smoke because of you lol You were always kind and funny. You were always there for me and I'm gonna miss you so much. You were always my favorite Uncle. Bob, thank you for loving our family unconditionally. We had a lot of special times together, like the 4th of July's, tailgating rooting for the Browns, holiday gatherings, hiking, watching our SVU reruns on a Saturday afternoon, or just simply having great conversation together. I know you are in a better place, and for that I am grateful for. I promise to keep your memory alive. LOVE YOU ALWAYS- Tina

Aunts & Uncles are almost always cooler than your parents. Uncle Bob, you were no exception. I think you always had a truck. When were kids, you showed up like Santa Claus in your truck with presents for all 8 of us & we would take turns going for rides. You were always gentle & kind. I have fond memories of spending time with you guys at your farmhouse & fishing in Hocking Hills. Bob often visited us for family gatherings. Add a cup of coffee, a TV remote, and a little home cooking, and we had a very happy grateful guy. It was an honor to be by your side during your last few days on this Earth. I held your hand and you gentle arm wrestled me a little. I hope you could feel our love surrounding you. I know that families are forever. Until we meet again... ~ Love, Beth
