Robert L. Strobel, 86, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. He was born on April 24, 1938 in Steubenville a son of the late Walter and Carrie McConnell Strobel. He was the retired owner of the family business, Strobel Construction, now operated by his son Rob. Bob was a member of Wintersville Methodist Church. Preceding Bob in death were his parents and brother James Strobel.
Bob spent his lifetime building homes for people in the Steubenville/Wintersville area. He was known for helping others and always smiling. He loved gardening, farming and raising cattle was his favorite pastime. Bob loved his family and the Lord.
Bob is survived by his wife Carolyn A. Short Strobel; children Robert C. (Diane) Strobel, Gary J. (Debra) Strobel and Lisa A. Vargo; four grandchildren Michael Seth Vargo, Ally Ray Vargo, Alexis Strobel and Joshua Strobel; siblings Darryl (Elizabeth) Strobel and Cheryl (Thomas) Connery and sister-in-law Donna Strobel.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Clint Quillen officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.
