Robert Jennings “Peck” or “Red” McClain 72 of Wintersville, Ohio died Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at home. He was born in Miletus, WV on April 18, 1931 a son of the late Dallas and Ruby Nicholson McClain. He retired in 1989 from Weirton Steel transportation department as a brakeman conductor with over 34 years service. He was a member of Wintersville Church of Christ and an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by two sisters Sue Viltro and Ruth Vecchione; two nephews and one great nephew. Surviving are his wife of 42 years Patricia Ann Martin McClain; one son Robert C. (wife Jennifer) McClain, one granddaughter Lauren MacKenzie McClain and grandson Braeden Jennings McClain all of Cranberry Twp., PA; two sisters Jean Burge of New Alexandria, Ohio and Virginia Trikones of Wintersville; five brothers Charles, Edward and Kenneth McClain of Wintersville, Ronald McClain of Colliers, WV and Rick McClain of Rayland, Ohio; 23 nieces and nephews; 29 great nieces and nephews; six great great nieces and nephews; several cousins and many friends. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Friday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.; where services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday with Minister Steve Alexander officiating. Burial at New Alexandria (OH) Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wintersville Church of Christ, 316 Two Ridges Rd., Wintersville, OH 43953; Valley Hospice, Inc. or Teramana Cancer Center.
