Robert J. “Bob” Matuska, Sr. 73 of Wintersville died Thursday, December 4, 2003 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Jefferson County, OH on September 4, 1930 a son of the late Michael and Susan Hreha Matuska, Sr. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3rd degree member Knights of Columbus St. Catherine Council 4590 Hopedale, OH and a 4th degree member of Fr. Bigelow Council Mingo Junction, OH. Bob was a past 4-H Advisor and also held membership in American Legion Argonne Post #33, PNA, and National Steel 25 Year Club. Bob was a Marine Corp veteran of the Korean War and was retired from National Steel, after 32 years of service, where he worked in the payroll dept. He was preceded in death by a brother Michael Matuska, Jr., sisters Anna Homol, Susan Ramer and Helen Krebs. He is survived by his wife Bernadine Rusnak Matuska, sons Robert (Mary Jo) Matuska, Jr. of Bloomingdale, OH and Donald (Tanya) Matuska of Mounds, OK, daughter Kathleen (Jeffrey) Hawkins of Bloomingdale, OH, brothers Joseph (Helen) Matuska of Steubenville and Andrew Matuska of California, sister Josephine Waligura of Dillonvale, OH, ten grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Funeral Liturgy with Mass on Saturday (today) 9:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Msgr. Gerald Calovini officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
