Virginia Maxwell Staib (Howard''s daughter)
I am a little late with this I guess but had not checked the paper there for a while. Mr. Claypool is a precious part of my childhood memories as he rented the west side (I think) of the basement at his store to my Dad, Howard Maxwell, for his jewelry store around 1952. My mother was sick then so I was at the store pretty often and would go there to have lunch with Dad. Many time I listened to him and Mr. Claypool talk about various things... Those were special times to me and had I known in 2001 when I returned to Steubenville for 3 years that Mr. Claypool was still alive I would have visited. Shame on me for not checking. I just wanted to perhaps add a sidelight to his life story and those he affected. I know my Dad held him in high esteem too.
