Robert G. Maple 87 of Steubenville, Ohio died Thursday evening at Trinity West. He was born in Mooretown, Ohio on June 5, 1916 a son of the late Fred and Mary McVeigh Maple. Preceded in death by a son, Robert L. Maple; one brother and two sisters. Robert was a retired strip mining shovel operator for Ohio Edison Coal Co. He held church membership with United Brethren in Christ of Steubenville. Surviving is his wife, Ruth M. Hainsworth Maple whom he married October 23, 1940, two sons Earl ( wife Elaine) Maple of Richmond, Ohio and Raymond ( wife Jean) Maple of Wisconsin; daughter, Carol ( husband John) Kennedy of Richmond; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. ONLY, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with Sharon Musgrave officiating. Burial Fort Steuben.
