Robert E. (“Bob” “Brownie” or “Butch”) Brown, Jr. 64 of Steubenville, Ohio died Sunday, March 14, 2004 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born in Cadiz, Ohio on September 18, 1939 a son of the late Robert E. Brown, Sr. and the late Jessie Fray Brown Marshall. Bob was a member of Unity Church of Christ in Girard, Ohio; Mingo Sportsmans Club and Wintersville American Legion Post 557. He served in the Navy. After 38 years of service, he retired as a millwright from Weirton Steel. Presently he was a bus driver for Jefferson County MRDD. He was preceded in death by one sister Joan L. Craig. Surviving are his wife Charlene Russlee Brown; sons Steven W. Brown, Jeffrey C. Brown and Robert E. (Jessica) Brown all of Wintersville; daughter Barbara (Arthur) Fleishour of Steubenville; stepsons David E. (Kimber) Whanger of Walnut Cove, NC and Frank A. (Lisa) Whanger of North Canton, Ohio; ten grandchildren Jerry Brown, Steven Brown, Mara Brown, Aaron Gambos, Becky Coberly, Krysi Coberly, Joshua Brown, Amy Brown, Zachary Brown, and Adara Whanger; stepfather Frank Marshall of Weirton; brothers Tom Brown of South Dakota and Jack Brown of Weirton; and sisters Sandy Glover of Brookfield, Ohio and Theresa “Dolly” Young of Wintersville. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday. Burial at Cross Creek Cemetery. Mingo Sportsmans services 8 p.m. Thursday. Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct services at the cemetery.
