Obituary For Robert D. Birch

Robert D. Birch, 91, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023. He was born in Ingraham, IL on September 24, 1931 the son of the late Samuel and Latha Rude Birch. Bob retired as plant manager of Illinois Tool Works (Signode) after 48 years of service. Bob enjoyed playing golf, watching football, and working in the garden with his dog Sawyer. Preceding Bob in death were his wife Dorothy E. “Dottie” Rinehart Birch; son Mark D. Birch; and daughter Gerri Machnicki.

Bob is survived by his granddaughter Allison L. Machnicki.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Monday, May 1, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Entombment at Fort Steuben.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to cornerstonehospice.org OR a charity of the donor’s choice.
