Richard “Dick” Vandeborne 63 of Bloomingdale, Ohio died Saturday, August 16, 2003 at his home of natural causes. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on September 7, 1939 a son of the late Fred and Thelma Frey Vandeborne. Dick was retired from Sheet Metal Local 33. He served as vice-president of Mingo Sportsmans Club from 1989-1993 and held the offices of secretary and board member over the years. Surviving are his wife Sharon Bocek Vandeborne; one son Lee (Deborah) Vandeborne of Steubenville; one daughter Cindy (Lonnie) Moore of Burlington, Massachusettes[ two grandchildren Allee Vandeborne and Evan Moore; two stepdaughters Christine Phillips of Smithfield, Ohio and Debbi Heaston of Bloomingdale; four brothers Fred (wife Barbara) of Smithfield, Donald (wife Dianna) and Bob (wife Karen) both of Bloomingdale and Gary (wife Phyllis) of Hopedale, Ohio; one sister Janet (Richard) Grimes of Wintersville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. John Powell officiating. Private interment at the request of the family.
