Obituary For Richard Stone Pflug

Richard Stone Pflug of Steubenville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Select Specialty Hospital, Wheeling, WV. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 17, 1949 the son of the late Oral and Louise Burns Pflug.

Richard retired as president of Tri-State Printing in 2019 after more than 45 years in the family business. He was community leader being honored as Outstanding Businessman of 2021; member of Steubenville Rotary and Steubenville Country Club; graduate and supporter of Steubenville Big Red athletics; and philanthropist. A pillar of the community, he will be sorely missed by many. An automobile enthusiast, Richard’s favorite past times were golfing, boating and fine dining. He worked tirelessly educating Alcoholics Anonymous, championing people with the program.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Joyce Besst and Joann Davidson.

Richard is survived by his wife Heidi M. (Eddy) Pflug; son Richard Stone (Jennifer) Pflug, Jr.; daughter Kathryn Stone Pflug; two granddaughters Alessandra and Cristina; beloved canine Bentley; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Wednesday 3-7 p.m.

On Thursday, friends may call at Wintersville U.M. Church, 702 Main Street, Wintersville, Ohio from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Clint Quillen officiating.

In lieu of flowers and because of Richard and Heidi’s strong support of organ donation, it is suggested to make donations to The Lung Transplantation, 410 W. 10th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43210, Attention: Cardiac Surgery; in his memory.

    I'm saddened to hear of Richard's passing. I worked at Tri State Printing over 40 years ago. Richard hired me right out of high school. He was a great boss and a good friend. God speed to Heaven Rich. Thank you for all the memories.
