Richard M. DiCarlo, Sr., 83, of Mingo Junction, Ohio died Friday, April 7, 2006 at Trinity East. He was born in Mingo Junction on October 24, 1922 a son of the late Pasquale and Concetta Gizzi DiCarlo. He was the retired owner of Big D Market in Mingo Junction. Richard was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and the Cursillio Movement. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley L. Mitchell DiCarlo on October 23, 2004; brothers Attilio, John, Herman, Frank and Edward DiCarlo; and sisters Melinda Sinclair, Mary Meta and Anna Icuss. Surviving are two sons Michael R. DiCarlo of Mingo and Richard “Rick” (Christine) DiCarlo, Jr. of Powell, Ohio; two daughters Cindy Scurti of Steubenville and Melanie Lewis of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren Joseph and Mark Petrelle, Robert Scurti, Hilary and Alison DiCarlo, Sarah and Rusty Lewis; two great grandchildren Matthew Goodrich and Brayden Petrelle; and sister Gilda DeSander of Mingo Junction. Friends may call at Hoff-Shorac Funeral Home, 235 Clifton Avenue, Mingo Junction on Sunday 5-8 p.m. Funeral liturgy with mass 11 a.m. Monday at St. Agnes Church with Rev. James Dunfee officiating. (Everyone please meet at church) Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Vigil service 7:45 p.m. Sunday Memorials may be directed to American Heart Association.
