Richard F. Faessel, 77, of Steubenville formerly of Pittsburgh passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Weirton Medical Center. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 22, 1942 a son of the late Francis I. and Joan Trask Faessel. Richard was a fuel transportation specialist and loved his hometown of Pittsburgh and took pride in the Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Steelers for which he wore his lucky Steelers hat for each game. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Pounds Faessel; son Richard Faessel, Jr, who died tragically on January 24, 2020; daughter Carrie Lynn Faessel; step-daughter Robyn Pounds; brothers Robert, Francis, Jr. and Thomas Faessel; sisters Paulette Jablonski, Suzanne Sterling and Leslie Stevens. Richard is survived by daughters Kimberly Faessel Kemp and Renee Faessel (Steve) Hagerty, both of Pittsburgh, PA; three granddaughters and two grandsons; sisters Joan (Ron) Duckstein of Butler, PA, Marida (Dave) Rodriguez of Burgettstown, PA, Mary Knots of Pittsburgh, PA and Robin Frank of Burgettstown, PA; several nieces and nephews. Private burial at the convenience of the family due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
