Richard E. “Dick” McCombs, 98, of Wintersville, Ohio died Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at Carriage House. He was born March 12, 1909 in Brooke County, WV a son of the late Roy Robert and Mary C. May McCombs. Dick retired from National Steel and was a member of LaBelle View Church of Christ; Pilgrim Lodge # 691 and Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville. Preceding Dick in death were two brothers Robert and Raymond McCombs and sister Martha Buono. Surviving are his wife of 73 years Lucy Swearingen McCombs whom he married on May 26, 1934; sister Margaret Bigler of Toronto, OH and two brothers Donald McCombs of Toronto, OH and William (Eloise) McCombs of Wintersville, OH. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Friday from 11:30 a.m. until time of services at 12:30 p.m. with Minister Tom Arehart officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery.
