Obituary For Richard E. Jenikovsky

Richard E. Jenikovsky, 85, of Leesburg, VA passed away August 2, 2025 at Spring Arbor of Leesburg. Richard was born May 23, 1940 in Long Island City, New York a son of the late William Richard & Elsie Hroch Jenikovsky.

Richard proudly served his country in the US Navy on Active duty from 1964-1968 then for 21 years in the Navy Reserves before retiring in 1989 as a Commander. He worked for many years as a Petroleum Engineer for the Foster-Wheeler Corporation before venturing to self-employment representing many international companies selling manufacturing and processing equipment. He was never idle and also kept busy moving cars for Enterprise Rental, working the 2000 Census on the Ohio Rural Initiative, manning the front desk of the Activity Center in his Del Webb Community and starting a dryer vent cleaning business.

Richard enjoyed many pastimes from reading, golfing, wine making, gardening, traveling, photography, history and genealogy.

Richard is survived by his wife of 60 years Joann Drzayich Jenikovsky; son Richard M. (Eadie Carter) Jenikovsky; daughter Christina (John) Lisciandro; grandsons Brock (Cassie) Jenikovsky, Brandon Lisciandro, Justin Lisciandro & Matthew Lisciandro and beloved nieces, nephews, Godchildren and cousins.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents and sister Nancy Trust.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio 43953 on Wednesday from 4 – 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church, 528 North 4th Street, Steubenville, Ohio 43952 on Thursday at 11 a.m. (everyone meet at church) with the Very Rev. Rajko Kosic officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery.
