Richard D. “Riff” Ross, 56, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Trinity West. He was born November 28, 1959 in Steubenville, Ohio. Richard was a 1978 graduate of Wintersville High School and was confirmed at Zion United Church of Christ. He was a member of Jefferson Sportsman Club and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Richard was an avid Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and Ohio State fan. He worked at Hancock Manufacturing Plant and Cardinal Plant in Brilliant, OH. Preceding Richard in death was his father William H. “Fat Billy” Ross. Surviving are his mother Lucretia F. “Toots” Peterson Ross of Wintersville, OH; companion Trish Clifton of Steubenville, OH and her eight grandchildren who affectionately called him “Pappy”; sister Robin Renee Ross of Mingo Junction, OH and her children Jeremy and Jenna Ross; brother Rodney S. Ross of Peoria, AZ and his children Roxanne and Erik Ross and his fury friend “Shasta”. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Sunday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. where a service will be held Monday 11 a.m. with Rev. Erik E. Breddin officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Teramana Cancer Center or Cancer Dietary Initiative c/o Susan Miller, 112 Garden Drive, Wintersville, OH 43953 or Charity Hospice, 500 Luray Drive, Wintersville, OH 43953.
