Obituary For Rhodeda Lee "Dede" Dornbush

Rhodeda Lee “Dede” Dornbush, 77, died February 5, 2021 at the Wyngate Senior Living Community following a lengthy illness.

She was born on November 7, 1943 the daughter of Chester Carl and Mary Frances Dornbush in Steubenville, Ohio. She graduated from Wintersville High School and attended Kent State University. Dede was employed as a unit secretary at the Richmond Hospital in East Lake, Ohio until her retirement in 1999.

Upon retirement, Dede returned to her family home in Wintersville and reunited with her childhood church, Two Ridges Presbyterian Church in Wintersville where she was a member of the Women’s Circle and served as an elder.

She was predeceased by her parents and by her aunt and uncle, Corwin and Betty Coe who raised her after the early deaths of her parents.

Dede is survived by a brother, Ken Dornbush of Wintersville and cousins, Robert (Florence) Dornbush of Woodstock, GA; Kevin (Debbie) Coe and Marilyn Coe and Aunt Faye Coe all of Chillicothe, Ohio.

Friends will be received at Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Tuesday February 9th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. followed by an interment service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Reverend Dr. William Lawrence will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Two Ridges Presbyterian Church, 1085 Canton Road, Wintersville, Ohio 43953.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude for the wonderful care she received from the staff at the Wyngate for the years she was a resident and for the comfort and concern expressed by the staff at Amedisys Hospice during her final days.

Facial Coverings and social distancing will be followed due to the pandemic.
