I feel so fortunate to have spent time with Father Stabene last year when my sister, grandmother, and I went to stay with him and Frances, who hosted us so generously in their home. Father Stabene and my grandmother's mother, Rose, were first cousins. The time that we spent at his home was so meaningful -- I loved being around his energy, being able to attend a service he led and to be invited to do a reading during the service. What a wonderful person who seemed to breathe goodness, love, and grace. I am so grateful we spent the time we did with Father Stabene and I will always remember him with adoration and see him in my mind's eye in his kitchen singing to his birds. 🙂 Father Stabene, rest in peace. We will carry and share your memory and love.

Frances I'm sitting here at my computer with tears in my eyes, I'm so very sorry to hear of Fr. Stabene. I have such wonderful loving memories of Father. My mom loved him so. I have a picture of us at the alter in your little chapel on my refrigerator and smile everytime I look at it. For the people of Steub and the surrounding area he will surely be missed. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Please kneel beside him and say a prayer for me from you. Times such as this that it's so hard living far away. Hugs Patti Tripodi

I was deeply saddened to hear of Father Stabene's passing and want to offer my deepest condolences and sincere prayers. Father truly lived his faith in both word and action. My mother and father always spoke of Father in the most complimentary terms and, as I grew up, I understood why. His kindness and compassion toward our family during the best and worst of times was greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. God bless and Rest In Peace Father. Mario Saggio

My sincere sympathy goes out to Father Stabene's family. To this day, I will never forget the kindness and compassion he showed toward my mother, Helen Giangulio, during her illness and death, and knowing that he truly cared about us, not only as out priest but has a true friend. He was an integral part of my childhood and adulthood. He was so happy to find out that he and my husband's grandfather shared the same last name; he was certain they were distantly related somehow. How true the saying goes that old ties really do bind. Father Stabene will be sadly missed but fondly remembered with love and appreciation.

Dear Frances and Family of Fr. Stabene, We will always have a deep affection for our dear Father Stabene. He was so loving and caring to us when we lost our son, Joseph, some years back. He had said many Masses for him and for our Family including our daughter, Carol who is a Sister of the Sacred Heart of Florence, Italy. He always said that she was a little Missionary to Italy. He helped me with the Italian language in his classes at Jeff Tech.so that I could speak and understand the Sisters in Florence. We will truly miss you, Father. I was in Italy when he passed away and I am so sorry I missed his Funeral. We look forward to seeing him in Heaven with our son, Joseph and my husband who preceded him in death just three months ago. Rest in Peace, Father. Keep the light on for us. We love you!..Frances, God Bless you for all you did to help Father in his home. Mary Ann Hranek and Family
