Cindy and Jessie, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Rev. Dave inspired me in so many ways. He was a very big part of our life when we were younger, from marrying Ron and I, baptizing both of the kids, and being there when my dad was sick. I still remember his comforting words the day we lost my dad. I am sorry that I won't be able to attend calling hours or the funeral, but my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Rev. Sperry married my husband and I in June 2001 at Brentwood U. M. He was a great man and we enjoyed the time we got to know him before our ceremony. We was so kind and welcoming. He had a great attitude and we were so happy to have his perform our ceremony, we loved that he added a lil humor to our special day and we will always remember him for it. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!! God Bless you all!!

Pastor Lu Ann
Dear Cindy and family, Dave had an infectious smile and spirit. We went to local church school together, and we shared our great love for the Lord every time we were in fellowship. When I heard of Dave's passing, I stopped the car and cried. But, then, I heard Dave's voice say, "Lu Ann, I'm fine, I'm spending Christmas with Jesus," and I could see that huge smile on his face; then I knew that Dave was well. I am sorry I was unable to come to the funeral. I will miss him here on earth, but I can't wait to see him in heaven. I have every confidence that he is having a wonderful time with Jesus and the angels! May God's peace prevail for your family in at this time. Pastor Lu Ann and Neil

Words can't express how deeply I'm sorry about the passing of such a wonderful minister and friend. The last time I talked to Pastor Dave was at Laken's wedding and it was just like we just seen each other,he talked to me about getting back into a church and how he didn't let this cancer get him down,he was a fighter for sure and the thing I can remember the most is His love for the Lord,His Bible Studies on the Purpose Driven Life and taking us to see the Passion Movie and down to the Mission in Steubenville to serve a Sat meal.I also remember his love for the Green Bay Packers and his many different ties,He just knew how to light up Mt Zion and Pleasant Grove when He pastored there and I know many hearts from both churches and all the other churches that He served are also hurting but I know the most important people really in Pastor Dave's life was his family,His beloved best friend & wife Cindy and his daughter and son in law Jessie and Todd and his grandkids.May God comfort all of you at this time and know Dave is among a wonderful group of servants up in Heaven now including my best friend Betty Garrett. May the Peace & love of God be with you at this sad time and know you all are in my thoughts and prayers & I love you in Christ.
