Ray L. Haught 78 of Wintersville, Ohio died Tuesday evening at home after a long illness. He was born in Lamira, Ohio on May 26, 1925. He was the son of the late Robert and Lola Lewis. He also had adopted parents William and Ida Coffman Haught. Ray was a member of Maynard United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday School and led a youth group. Later in life he attended Finley United Methodist Church. He was veteran of U.S.Army serving during W.W.II and a long time member of the Wintersville American Legion Post #557. He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co. with 32 years of service as a crane operator. Ray was preceded in death by his wife Lillian Grimes Haught; two granddaughters Paige and Michelle Guthrie; brothers Roy (his twin), John, Ralph and Charles Lewis; and sisters, Bernice Mae, Ruth Melevich, Hazel Marty and Bula Lewis. He is survived by two daughters Tracy Guthrie of Wintersville and Wendy (Ron) Davis of Steubenville. two grandsons, Ron Davis of Cleveland and Keith Guthrie of Jewett; one sister, Lela Littleton of Beverly, Ohio. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. with Rev. P. Douglas George officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville, Ohio. Fort Knox Honor Guard to conduct military services at the gravesite. Memorial contributions to be directed to Finley United Methodist Church.
