Raymond E. “Ray” Eddy 76 of Wintersville, Ohio died Monday, September 15, 2003 in the ER at Trinity West. He was born in Sugargrove, OH on August 24, 1927 a son of the late Clyde and Marie Wolfe Eddy. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Wintersville, Pilgrim Lodge #691 F&AM. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. He was retired from Weirton Steel Corp., where he worked in the Blooming Mill. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers. He is survived by his wife Elisabeth Pitzer Eddy whom he married on December 4, 1948 in Munich, Germany, daughters Heidi Eddy of Columbus, OH and Sharon (Donald) Long of Wintersville, OH, granddaughters Nicole and Kelsey Long, sisters Lucille Shirley, Violet McClain, Ruth Corder and Martha Thomas. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9p.m. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be Thursday at 9:30a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with Msgr. Gerald Calovini officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. Vigil services Wednesday at 3:45p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
