R. Jack Pool, 90, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at Sienna Skilled Care under the supervision of Valley Hospice. He was born in New Matamoras, Ohio on November 23, 1935 a son of the late Raymond & Wanda Barnhart Pool.

Jack retired from the Cardinal Plant (AEP) and served on the Wintersville fire and police departments. He was a Navy veteran.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife Dolores Huggins Pool; brothers twin Gene, Edward & Larry; and sister Claudia Rogers.

Jack was known for his patience, calming manner and his deep devotion to his family. He never missed a birthday. For family both near and far, everyone enjoyed his birthday morning phone call and him singing “Happy Birthday” to them. Jack was a long-time member of Wintersville Church of Christ. His life exemplified his true faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jack is survived by his children Barbara Zimnox & Jack (Diane) Pool; five grandchildren Devon (Sara) Zimnox, Nikki Petrella, Alyssa (Ryan) Abraham, Alexa (Nick) Martinek & Alec Pool; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.
