Phyllis M. Caranna 86, of Riverview, Michigan, formerly of Steubenville, Ohio died Friday, October 15, 2004 at Henry Ford Hospital, Wyandotte, Michigan. She was born in Steubenville on October 4, 1918 a daughter of the late Anthony and Santina Terzini Farchione. While residing in Steubenville, Phyllis was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church; C.W.C. and St. Francis Society and the Leisure Card Club. She was a 1935 honors graduate of Steubenville High School and had been employed as a bookkeeper at DiNovo Chrysler and Steubenville Fruit Co. Preceding Phyllis in death were two infant brothers and brother Eric G. Farchione; an infant sister and sister Jessie Michael. Surviving are her husband Victor V. Caranna, whom she married on August 28, 1941; five children Dr. Charles (Debra) Caranna of Columbus, Ohio, Victor (Nancy) Caranna of Grand Praire, Texas, Michael (Diana) Caranna of Eastlake, Ohio, Carol (John) Mayerich of Riverview, Michigan and Anthony Caranna of Canton, Michigan; two sisters Emily (Herman) Carducci of Ecorse, Michigan and Lillian Sanders of Steubenville; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral liturgy with mass 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Rosary Church with Rev. Timothy McGuire officiating. Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Vigil service 3:45 p.m. Monday Contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Church Memorial Fund.
