Obituary For Philip Edward Lunger

Philip E. Lunger, 70, of Wintersville, Ohio died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, Ohio.  Philip was born in Waverly, NY on January 25, 1944 a son of the late Earl L. and Barbara V. Albright Lunger.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Nancy Lathrop.  He retired from AEP Cardinal Plant as the stores attendant and belonged to Utility Workers Union of America AFL-CIO.  Philip was Methodist by faith and a 1961 graduate of Avella High School. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy.  His favorite past time was fishing.He is survived by his wife Betty Jo Woodburn Lunger at home; sons Paul E. Lunger of Columbus, OH and Mark C. Lunger of Greensburg, PA; sisters Patricia Howard of Elkland, PA and Diane (Bill) Pollock of Tacoma, Wash.Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m., with Pastor Hester Hudson officiating.  Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct military honors in the Shorac Chapel at the funeral home.  Private burial in Claysville Cemetery, Claysville, PA.

    In my memories, I can still see the smiling face of my neighbor across the street in Independence. So glad I got to see him at the school reunion a few years back. Our deepest sympathy to his wife and family at this time of sadness. Lou & Kathy Hunt
