Peter Polovina 74 of Steubenville, Ohio died Thursday, May 20, 2004 at Trinity West. He was born in Steubenville on July 14, 1929 a son of the late Mane and Milka Momcilovich Polovina. Pete was a retired fire captain having served Steubenville Fire Dept. from 1957-1983. He was a Steubenville High School graduate and attended Mississippi State University. Pete was a member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church; Firefighter Retirees of Ohio and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Patrice; brother Duke and three sisters Olga DiFalco, Dorothy Fornsaglio and Mildred. Peter is the beloved husband of Natalie J. Visnic Polovina whom he married on April 27, 1958; devoted father and caregiver of Peter Michael Polovina; and brother of Mary (George) Munis and Helen Vindish. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio today 5-9 p.m.; where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with Very Rev. Rade Merick officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery. Pomen services 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Resurrection Serbian Church or Multiple Sclerosis Society.
