Peter “Pep” Krnich 67 of Irondale, Ohio, formerly of Steubenville, Ohio died Thursday, August 21, 2003 at his home of natural causes. He was born in Steubenville on March 7, 1936 a son of the late Theodore and Mildred Lejvnaich Krnich. Pep retired from City of Steubenville Fire Department. He was Serbian Orthodox by faith and served with the Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by one nephew Mark “Pep” Trbovich. Surviving are his fiancee Dr. Otilia J. Asuncion of Steubenville; one brother Milan “Mitch” Krnich of Skokie, Illinois; four sisters Sophia Kotur, Sarah “Sikie” (Ernest) Carducci, Katherine “Katie” (Mele “Chill”) Trbovich and Jean “Dougie” Ferrell all of Steubenville; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Friday 4-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Very Rev.
