Pete Vojvodich, a faithful servant of God, a devoted husband, proud veteran, respected steel industry leader, and loving family man, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026.

Born to the late Pete Vojvodich and Elizabeth (Salata) Vojvodich, Pete lived a life defined by service, integrity, humility, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community.

On July 15, 1967, Pete married the love of his life, the former Diane Joyce Dailey, at Holy Name Cathedral in Steubenville, Ohio. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Donald Mantica, beginning a remarkable marriage built on faith, devotion, and partnership that spanned decades. Diane is the daughter of the late Kenneth Dailey and Doris Williams Dailey.

Pete proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Alaska, Iceland, and the Dakotas as part of the nation's Minuteman Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) program during the Cold War. His military service reflected the patriotism, discipline, and quiet strength that would define his life.

Following his military service, Pete dedicated more than 40 years to the steel industry, earning the respect of colleagues throughout his distinguished career. He held numerous leadership positions with Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Steubenville and Mingo Junction, where he became known for his operational expertise, strong work ethic, and ability to lead with fairness and integrity. Later, he joined SSAB (IPSCO), serving as Project Manager and General Manager of Operations, where he played a pivotal role in the construction, commissioning, and successful operation of the company's state-of-the-art plate mill in Houston, Texas. His leadership helped shape one of the industry's most significant manufacturing investments and left a lasting impact on the organization and the people who worked alongside him.

While Pete was proud of his professional accomplishments, those who knew him best will remember him not for his titles, but for his character. He was a man of quiet confidence, unwavering honesty, and deep compassion and devotion to God. He believed in priority to provide for family and believed in hard work, keeping one's word, and treating everyone with dignity and respect. He served as a mentor to many, offering guidance through example more often than words.

Above all, Pete was devoted to his family. He treasured time spent with those he loved, celebrated their successes, and offered steadfast support through every stage of life. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled—faith, perseverance, humility, and an enduring commitment to serving others.

Pete's life was one of purpose, service, and lasting impact. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, former colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.

He is preceded in death by his Father, Pete Vojvodich, his mother Elizabeth Vojvodich (Salata)his brother Robert Vojvodich and his son James Vojvodich. He is survived by his wife Diane Vojvodich (Dailey), a son Peter Vojvodich, a daughter Janice Vojvodich and 7 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Private family services will be held. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
