Peter A. “Pete” Benvenuti, Sr., 82, of Mingo Junction, Ohio died Saturday, December 6, 2014 at his home. He was born June 13, 1932 in Jerome, PA a son of the late Pietro and Rosina Baldasari Benvenuti. Pete was a chef at Steubenville Country Club and retired as a chef from the Williams Country Club. He was a member of the American Legion Post #573 in Brilliant, OH and Jefferson Sportsman Club. Pete loved the peacefulness of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Korean War. Preceding Pete in death were three brothers Lou Benvenuti, Joe Benver and Ray Benvenuti; two sisters Ada Perper and Monica Clavelli; grandson Christopher Ciciarelli and former spouse Donna Benvenuti. Surviving are his son Peter (Mary) Benvenuti, Jr. of Mingo Junction, OH; daughter Melissa (Eugene) Ciciarelli of Steubenville, OH; five grandchildren Mandy, Shane Anthony, Carissa, Teresa and Christina; nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and longtime companion Robin Hardy. Friends may call at Dunlope – Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville Tuesday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. where a service will be held Wednesday 10 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Greco officiating. Burial at Oakland Cemetery.
