Penny Bell-DeFranco, 45, of Toronto, Ohio died Monday, February 28, 2005 after her ferocious fight with cancer. She was born on December 8, 1959 in Steubenville, Ohio. Penny worked as a home health care aide for Interim Health Care and Merritt Manor, caring for the elderly. Preceding Penny in death were her mother Beverly Pickford Bell and her husband Doug DeFranco. Penny is survived by two daughters Beverly Jean DeFranco and Nicole Lynn DeFranco both of Toronto; father William “Bo” Bell of Wintersville; two sisters Lynn Bell-Haines of Wintersville and Pam Bell-Williams of Lake Arrowhead, California; two brothers Will Bell and Richard Bell both of Fort Myers, Florida; long-time companion and friend Tim Nichols; and three nephews Joseph LaPenna III and William Haines, Jr. both of Wintersville and William Bell, Jr. of Toronto. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Ron Miller officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
